Sr. Workday Application Architect - Financials, Worldwide Grocery Tech-Business Operations & Program Management

About the position

Worldwide Grocery Stores Tech is seeking a Sr. Workday Application Architect to join our Workday Technology team. The Sr. Workday Application Architect for Finance is a technical leadership role responsible for designing, architecting, and delivering solutions across the Workday Financial Management platform. This position serves as the technical lead for managing solution design and delivery for Finance applications, with primary focus on Workday Financial modules including Financial Accounting, Banking and Settlement, Business Asset Management, Capital Projects, Supplier Management, and related financial processes.

Responsibilities

  • Serve as technical lead for Workday Finance solution design and delivery across Financial Accounting, Banking and Settlement, Supplier Management, Business Assets, and Capital Projects.
  • Participate in architecture reviews to ensure optimized financial systems and translate financial technology strategies into technical requirements.
  • Understand High-Level Designs from Enterprise Solution Architects and collaborate with Product Owners and Developers to create/approve Low-Level Designs.
  • Design and architect Workday financial integrations and configurations, including banking platforms, payment processors, and accounting systems.
  • Manage technical planning, development, and troubleshooting of financial integrations supporting General Ledger, AP, AR, Asset Management, and financial close processes.
  • Assist with effort estimation by assessing complexity, risk, and dependencies for financial projects.
  • Provide expertise in evaluating finance applications portfolio and recommend technical releases supporting financial business needs.
  • Analyze and recommend enhancements to streamline financial operations and month-end close activities.
  • Maintain knowledge of Financial Security & Compliance, SOX Controls, Audit requirements, and segregation of duties.
  • Develop coding standards and technical documentation for financial integrations and processes.

Requirements

  • 5+ years of developing end-to-end analytics solutions, including system configuration, model building, data security, and reporting experience
  • Experience identifying and resolving complex issues
  • Experience with architecture or system engineering
  • Knowledge of software engineering best practices across the development life cycle, including agile methodologies, coding standards, code reviews, source management, build processes, testing, and operations
  • Experience with Workday Finance.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience building complex software systems that have been successfully delivered to customers, or experience debugging, profiling, and implementing best software engineering practices in large-scale systems
  • Experience analyzing and troubleshooting RESTful web API calls, or experience operating highly available, distributed systems of data extraction, ingestion, and processing of large data sets
  • Knowledge of industry standard test automation tools and experience developing product test frameworks
  • Experience using data, reporting, or tools to measure performance and make adjustments accordingly
  • 5+ years of experience in Financial business/systems analysis role, solutions architect, or related experience.
  • Workday certifications/knowledge required: Financial Accounting, Banking and Settlement, Supplier Accounts, Customer Accounts, Business Assets, Projects, Security, Integrations, Reporting, Extend, PRISM, Accounting Center, Adaptive Planning.
