Join us and help shape the future of aerospace and defense.</p><p></p><p><i><b>This position will be based in the Portland, OR & Seattle, WA (Northwest Region).  Therefore, the candidate must be self-directed and manage their own schedule to meet the business requirements.  This position requires a minimum of 30% travel.</b></i></p><p></p><p><b>What You Will Do:</b></p><ul><li>Review and approve suppliers’ systems for chemical and metallurgical process control.</li><li>Conduct product and process reviews/surveillance at various suppliers.</li><li>Review and approve suppliers’ metallurgical and chemical processes.</li><li>Actively participate in any chemical metallurgical issues/investigations at suppliers that could impact P&W.</li><li>Conduct training on P&W quality material control system requirements at various suppliers.</li><li>Participate in approval of engineering controlled processes for critical applications.</li><li>Partner with other P&W business units towards improving supplier overall quality.</li><li>Assist supplier with non-conformance documentation preparation and act as a resource/coach for related root cause corrective action investigations.</li><li>Interface with all levels of employees at suppliers.</li><li>Actively participate in continuous improvement activities.</li><li>Participate on various team audits and manufacturing process reviews.</li></ul><p></p><p><b>Basic Qualifications:</b></p><ul><li>Bachelors Degree or equivalent experience and minimum 8 years prior relevant experience, or An Advanced Degree in a related field and minimum 5 years experience.</li></ul><p></p><p><b>Qualifications We Prefer:</b></p><ul><li><span>Degree in Material Science/Engineering.</span></li><li>Testing and control of raw materials, finished product, and processing ensuring compliance with company standards and applicable government regulations.</li><li>Chemical/Metallurgical Processes, i.e., laser machining, electro-discharge machining, electro-chemical grinding, brazing, coatings, welding, heat treatment, etc.</li><li>Product Integrity.</li><li>Quality Control.</li><li>Surveillance of suppliers’ quality system.</li><li>Audit of suppliers’ processes and products.</li></ul><p></p><p>Please ensure the role type defined below is appropriate for your needs before applying to this role. The salary range provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels.
