Job Purpose EnerSys is seeking a qualified Technical Sales Representative to help us sell the products and services that our customers have grown to rely on. The Technical Sales Representative will have a passion for success, strong understanding of the sales process, excel at generating leads, building relationships, and closing deals. The ideal candidate will be a self-starter, and go-getter with strong negotiating skills, and the ability to showcase our offerings in a compelling way. Essential Duties and Responsibilities Consistently exceed your sales quota by retaining, growing, and prospecting clients within your account territory. Use product knowledge in conjunction with knowledge of customers’ project objectives to develop unique value propositions supported by financial impact analysis and feasibility studies. Use Salesforce for customer relationship management activities. Attend trade shows, conferences, meetings, and seminars to promote products or to learn about industry developments. Create, maintain, and enhance relationships with key personnel for product development and sales. Willingness to travel nationally on a frequent basis. A drive for self-education and learning new products, services, and business processes. Other activities include proposals, pricing, presentations, forecasting, program management, and other duties as required. The primary duty is to exercise discretion and independent judgment when dealing with critical matters. Identify the right customer stakeholders and build connections quickly to drive consensus for deals; works cooperatively with wide range of internal stakeholders for deal success. Independently and collaboratively strategize for solving deal-level challenges. Follow all company policies and procedures as listed, but not limited to: warranty, safety, environmental, OSHA, DOT Hazmat, and ISO9000. All other duties may be assigned. Qualifications To perform the Technical Sales Representative job successfully, an individual must have prior experience in sales. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge skill, and/or abilities required. High School Diploma or equivalent. Driving Requirements Must have a valid driver’s license and a safe driving record with minimal traffic violations. Must be 18 years of age to drive a company vehicle. Able and willing to travel to customer sites - 70% travel Able and willing to do overnight travel Primarily local travel with occasional national travel and overnight travel throughout the year Preferred Qualifications A college degree is preferred. Specific industry sales experience is a plus, especially a proven track record of success selling advanced battery chemistries. General Job Requirements This position requires you to drive a company vehicle. Therefore, you must be able to pass the company’s driving requirements. Certain vehicles may also require a specific drivers license and have additional driving requirements. Must be able and willing to do overnight travel Must be able to frequently bend; twist; reach; stoop; kneel or crouch. This position will work in an office setting, expect minimal physical demands.
