Trader - Full Time

As a senior member of the Secondary Marketing team, the SVP Trader is responsible for maximizing revenue by selling mortgage loans into the Secondary Markets. The Trader will pass the revenue generated from these sales to our Retail and Correspondent Sales partners to ensure we maintain a competitive offering for our customers. The Trader must also work within the Capital Markets to effectively hedge the value of the loan from time of rate lock commitment to time of loan sale.

The Trader will additionally be keenly focused on fulfilling CRA shortfalls by finding cost-effective opportunities to acquire loans.

Key Responsibilities Trading & Market Activities Manage hedging and market risk for a locked pipeline and warehouse of mortgage loans. Maximize profitability through the timely sale of whole loans and the structuring of mortgage-backed securities. Pursue best-execution opportunities and convey those economics to Sales partners to maintain a competitive offering.

Identify and act on cost-effective opportunities to acquire mortgage loans. Stakeholder & Partner Collaboration Prospect and cultivate relationships with investors, including GSEs, broker-dealers, and other mortgage loan buyers. Work with Risk Reporting Analysts to ensure proper reporting and attribution of risks and P&L.

Partner closely with control functions—including Legal, Compliance, Market and Credit Risk, Audit, and Finance—to ensure a robust governance and control infrastructure. Risk, Governance & Compliance Assess risk appropriately when making business decisions, with particular consideration for the firm's reputation and the safeguarding of Citigroup, its clients, and its assets. Adhere to all internal policies and procedures, including Citi's Code of Conduct and the Plan of Supervision for the Secondary Marketing Trade Desk.
