VP Analyst: Banking, Payments and Financial Services (Remote US)

About the role We are seeking a seasoned Financial Services industry executive with experience in senior product leadership roles to serve as a Gartner research analyst and industry thought leader. Bringing expertise in Banking and Payments technology, this role will identify and analyze market trends and best practices, and act as a trusted advisor to Chief Product Officers in the Financial Services industry. The role will be responsible for authoring pragmatic and provocative content, including market predictions, and providing insights and recommendations to clients through webinars, in-person presentations and client meetings. Who you are • Analytical thinker with the ability to process information quickly • Skilled in written communication • A lifelong learner - constantly curious • Enjoy helping clients accomplish their most critical priorities • Self-motivated and effective at managing work independently • Excellent collaborator with colleagues • Ability to quickly build rapport and gain client trust • Confident presenter with a high level of executive presence What you will do • Research, analyze and predict Banking product market trends and innovations • Monitor and evaluate the competitive landscape across vendors, solutions, and service providers • Create compelling, high-quality research reports, white papers, and thought leadership content that provides clients with actionable insights • Develop frameworks, methodologies, and best practices to help organizations successfully implement solutions • Through virtual and face-to-face interactions, advise Banking Chief Product Officers and senior executives on their strategic decisions • Create and deliver high value presentations at Gartner events, industry and professional association conferences, and client briefings • Build external credibility as an industry expert to represent Gartner research and insights • Provide sales support to help drive engagement with prospects and clients • Actively participate in innovation, ideation, and research discussions and collaborate effectively with peers within the Gartner research community What you will need • Bachelor's degree and at least 12 years of experience in a related field or an equivalent combination of education and experience • Expertise in the Banking industry, including an understanding of key challenges, opportunities, trends and competitive dynamics • Deep knowledge of Payments technology and Financial Services regulatory requirements • Demonstrable executive presence; can immediately establish credibility with executives and other stakeholders • Strong communicator; able to explain complex concepts concisely and simply in writing • Comfortable presenting in-person or via webinar to audiences of 250 or more • Ability to engage with clients and respond effectively to spontaneous questions • Strong organizational skills ability to work under tight deadlines and produce high quality deliverables • Excellent independent research skills • Proficient in analyzing and synthesizing data; can effectively apply patterns and frameworks while drawing and defending conclusions to client challenges • Deep intellectual curiosity about the best approaches for success in the Banking industry • Agile in navigating highly matrixed environments • Willingness and ability to travel up to 15% • Preferred qualifications • Direct experience in the role of Chief Product Officer or equivalent at a bank or financial services company • Expertise in AI technologies and their business applications • Prior experience at a research and advisory firm, consulting organization, or similar role #LI-remote #LI-AV1 Who are we?
