VP, CFO of Retail

MoneyGram’s Retail business includes our global network of more than 500,000 agent locations across 200 counties and territories which enable cross-border remittances and payments. The business also includes Digital Partners which enables consumers to send or receive cross-border remittances through the partner’s app or website via a connection to the MoneyGram payment network.

We are hiring a business line CFO of Retail to serve as the senior finance leader for the business. This role is a strategic, hands-on operator who can shape strategy and investment choices while also diving into the details of financial planning, analytics, unit economics, and day-to-day business execution.

The role will be a [Senior Vice President (SVP)] and report directly to MoneyGram’s CFO and have accountability to the EVP of Global Sales. The CFO of Retail is expected to be a key thought partner to the ‘EVP of Global Sales and his leadership team.

What you will get to do: Strategy & business partnership

  • Serve as the primary finance partner for the Retail and Digital Partners’ businesses and a core member of their leadership team; help translate strategy into measurable operating and financial outcomes.
  • Own and lead an effective monthly business review cadence for Retail and Digital Partners that drives decisions, enables accountability, and ensures strategic alignment across the entire MoneyGram organization.
  • Partner with the Retail and Digital Partners business, Marketing, Product, Engineering, and Data and Analytics to define, measure, and improve funnel, retention, growth and profitability metrics.
  • Lead strategic initiatives and execution to drive growth, reduce costs, and improve profitability.
  • Operate in a global environment with regional leaders from Sales and Finance in the Americas, Europe, Africa, Asia, and the Middle East
Financial Planning & Analysis
  • Lead the annual plan, monthly forecast, and ongoing resource allocation decisions for the business; provide clear tradeoffs and recommendations backed by data.
  • Own a driver-based forecast and reporting framework for the business where KPIs lead and financials follow; create early-warning indicators and ensure high forecast accuracy and accountability.
  • Deliver ad hoc analyses of performance with a clear point of view on root causes and actions to improve outcomes.
  • Develop a deep understanding of Retail’s and Digital Partner’s end-to-end transactional mechanics and unit economics.
Finance partnership and risk management
  • Work closely with Treasury to ensure Retail and Digital Partners decisions reflect cross-border funds flow, liquidity, FX, and working capital considerations.
  • Partner with corporate FP&A, Accounting, Tax, Legal, Regulatory, and Audit to ensure policies, controls, and reporting processes are effective and scalable.
  • Act as a front-line risk manager for the business; ensure robust financial controls, and strong governance commensurate with scale and regulatory requirements.
Who you are:
  • Senior finance leadership experience as a divisional CFO, business line finance leader, or FP&A leader, ideally in fintech, payments, financial services, or consumer digital.
  • Strong FP&A foundation with proven ability to build driver-based models, scenario analyses, and decision frameworks that improve operating performance.
  • Demonstrated ability to operate as a trusted business partner and dive into the details; comfortable working in a fast-paced entrepreneurial and global environment.
  • Excellent communication skills (written, verbal, presentations, financial reporting) with the ability to distill complex information into decision-ready insights.
  • Lead with a technology, automation and AI-first mindset to reduce manual work and modernize planning, reporting, and analytics workflows.
