Writer | Crazy Maple Studio | Remote (United States)

Job Overview: We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Writer to join our team for the production of many Reelshort Mobisode Series with Elastic Heart Studio. As the Writer, you will be responsible for working with the Head of Studio and Head Writer to conceptualize projects and create 60-80 approximate one-minute-long episodes per project. This role requires a strong creative vision, time management skills, a genuine love for romance and romance in media, and the ability to collaborate effectively with a diverse team of professionals. Responsibilities: Production: • Travel (when necessary) to help facilitate productions. This includes being on set for 12+ hours/day, sometimes on weekends. Creative: • Collaborate with writers, directors, and other creative team members to develop compelling storylines, characters, and themes for the series. • Provide creative feedback and guidance throughout the production process to maintain artistic integrity and alignment with the series’ vision. • Ensure that each episode maintains consistent quality and adheres to brand standards. • Reads source material (monthly) for projects. • Write 1 ReelShort or interactive live action every 4 weeks. Work with Head Writer to implement creative feedback that adheres to our style and mission. Team Leadership: • Foster a collaborative and supportive work environment where team members feel motivated and empowered to excel. • ​​Be responsive to messages over DingTalk during work hours (9:30 am – 5:30 pm PST) • Attend weekly team meeting • Attend weekly meetings with Head of Studio and other leadership • Attend any creative brainstorming or workshop meetings Quality Assurance: • Maintain the overall creative vision and quality standards of Elastic Heart Studio projects. Misc: • Must be able to sit at a computer and focus for extended periods of time, with breaks as needed • This role will require flexibility and a willingness to take on new projects on short notice Requirements • Proven experience as a Writer in film or television production, with a strong portfolio of successful projects. • Proven experience in the romance genre in film, television, or other media. • Excellent organizational and time management skills, with the ability to multitask and prioritize effectively. • Strong communication skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with diverse teams. • Creative vision and the ability to implement constructive feedback from creative team members. • Knowledge of the film and television industry, as well as the romance industry, including current trends and emerging tropes. • Master’s degree in film, creative writing, or related field preferred, but not required. • Minimum 5 years experience required • Please submit at least 3 writing samples with your resume.
